I’m Lizzie, welcome to Life+Able Therapy!
I am an Asian American therapist working and living in Amsterdam. As an English-speaking therapist, I support other Americans, Expats, and Internationals to strengthen their ability to do life.
My background is with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of environments. With children, I specialize working with ages 8-14 years old. While in the U.S., my work with children and adolescents ranged from inpatient/residential environment, an eating disorder treatment center (both residential and outpaient), community mental health, and most recently, a Middle School Counselor (ages 10-14, grades 5-8). I utilize play and adolescent therapy, skills from ACT and DBT for children, and traditional talk therapy in sessions to build a safe and warm foundation.
With adults, I see clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, and are ready for extra support. We focus on buildling emotional awareness, mindfulness and somatics, and learning how to blend our emotions with reason in order to stabilize and work towards goals. Using a person-centered, holistic approach to therapy, we’ll look at the whole picture with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
I incorporate techniques and skills from my training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
We’ll start with an intake session to learn more about each other and your goals for therapy. And if you're unsure of what to talk about in session, I’ll guide you through it. Whenever you’re ready, I’m here for you.

insurance coverage
At this time, I am not affiliated with insurance companies for several reasons.
Paying privately offers you greater flexibility and autonomy in selecting your care, without the constraints of insurance providers influencing your treatment plan.
Additionally, private payment eliminates the need for a formal mental health diagnosis and removes the requirement to demonstrate that the treatment is deemed a medical necessity.
